Book by Authors Release Form

By entering work to Book by Authors, through www.bookbyauthors.org, email or otherwise, I give explicit permission for my creative work(s) to be published in New Orleans by New Orleans.

I understand New Orleans by New Orleans may be distributed to New Orleans-area bookstores and libraries, and globally available through online booksellers such as Amazon.com.

I give my permission to Smolarcorp, the company that owns and produces the Book by Authors program, to distribute my works for marketing and advertising purposes. Examples include: Placing my work(s) on the Book by Authors website, www.bookbyauthors.org; and featuring my work(s) in marketing materials such as postcards and press releases.

I release my material for distribution at no charge, and with the understanding that it may be edited to meet printing requirements or for grammar/spelling.

I represent that I have full authority to release this work to Book by Authors for reproduction purposes and that no other party can claim this authority and that Book by Authors will be held harmless in the vent of a dispute of rights.

I understand that I, the artist, retain all copyright and ownership of my material, and agree to allow it to be used for the Book by Authors program with no restrictions or expectation of financial compensation, now or in the future. I understand Smolarcorp and Book by Authors rights are transferable if New Orleans by New Orleans is purchased in total for distribution by another publisher.

I maintain that I have the rights to agree to these conditions, and no other person or agency owns the rights to the work(s) I submit.

Smolarcorp, Rachel Potucek, Ryan Smolar, and Book by Authors sponsors are not be responsible for any damages, legal claims, or similar issues that arise from the publication or distribution of my work(s).

This agreement will last as long as the program is produced and made available to the public. This agreement is Non-Exclusive, meaning that I, the artist, retain all rights to my work(s) and can issue a similar license to anyone I wish.
